Harlem Late Night Jazz, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and celebrating Harlem’s rich musical legacy by “keeping live music alive” in its historic home. Founded in 2016, the organization connects world-class jazz, blues, and soul musicians with Harlem’s finest venues, creating unforgettable performances that honor tradition while inspiring and creating opportunities for new generations.

OUR PROGRAMS
Through partnerships with local businesses, cultural institutions, and community organizations, Harlem Late Night Jazz, Inc., amplifies artist voices, supports intergenerational programming, and strengthens Harlem’s cultural tapestry. From intimate club sets to vibrant public events, especially through their biannual signature Harlem JAZZ Club Revival™, HLNJ sustains the energy, artistry, and spirit that make Harlem the music mecca of the world.

The 10-day Spring and Fall jazz festivals launched in 2023, making Harlem a music destination twice annually, with sustainable impact year-round.

HLNJ curates and produces music performances 5 nights a week at various Harlem clubs, restaurants, and speakeasies.

Partnering with the West Harlem Development Corporation, the West Harlem Arts Alliance, and NYC Parks, Harlem Late Night Jazz curates performances in West Harlem Park spaces and oversees the execution of offerings from other curators.

Partnering with Night Markets NYC: Uptown, Harlem Late Night Jazz curates music for 8 monthly events. These events showcase the cultural life of Harlem with the “Largest, Dopest Foodie Block Party in The Big Apple, Harlem Style.”

The Jazz History Tree, an interactive website (jazzhistorytree.com) created by HLNJ President Dakota Pippins, covers the history of over 30 genres of the music of Black Americans over a 400-year period.

HLNJ Community Parks & Special Events
We collaborate with community partners to curate, produce, or sponsor 40+ free outdoor concerts each year in Harlem’s parks. Highlights include:West Harlem Summer Jazz Festival (June–Sept)

Because we don’t accept advertising dollars, our picks are driven by quality, not pay-to-play. Each night, we’ll take you to where the heavy hitters gather and the music comes alive. We also highlight special events that embody our core values: excellence, authenticity, and soul.
