HLNJ curates, produces, and endorses music performances seven nights a week at various Harlem clubs, restaurants, and speakeasies. Endorsed events are select performances and residencies that, while not produced by HLNJ, consistently offer quality live music programming. Sunday evening (6pm-10pm) featuring The Harlem Groove Band bringing organ jazz and groove sessions at the world-renowned American Legion Post #398 (Harlem’s last organ jazz house)

At the American Legion Post 398 you get to hear jazz played the old fashioned way, in a row of brownstones on 132nd Street, down a few steps to the ground floor, where musicians and jazzers from Harlem, and tourists from all over the world have gathered for decades. Don’t forget to sign the book.

“The Lions Den” jam sessions every Wednesday (March - December) at The New Amsterdam Musical Association (NAMA). Founded in 1904, NAMA is the nations oldest organization for Black musicians. These remarkable jam sessions in this historic venue feature NYC’s best “Young Lions” jamming with the masters. We curate these events, in partnership with jazz masters, New York music schools, and NAMA. The Jazz Foundation of America supports these jam sessions.
